Yesterday was fabulous. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time. If I tried to explain to you the long, harrowing, dusty bus ride, how uncomfortable camels are to ride and how sore I am right now, you might think it was a really bad day, but it wasn't, it was fantastic.

The dusty bus ride.

Maasai children from a boma near the camel place. They tried to speak to us in Italian because the NGO that works with them is from Italy.

Jenny and I on our Camel named Mama Jene. We were also really enthused that one of the camels in our group was named Sally. It made out rendition of Sally the Camel even more meaningful.

The 12 of us that went on the camel excursion. (Alex, Katie, Jami, Rachel, Libby, Anastasia, Colleen, Amanda, Katie, Jenny, Me, Cat)
Saturday morning I got a little taste of home. Friday was Krista's 20th birthday, two of my best friends came in from out of town for her party on Friday night, and so I woke up at the crack of dawn to talk to them all there. I got to say hi to everyone and sing happy birthday to Krista at 6:30 in the morning. I miss all of you, Omaha friends!
And finally, here are some pictures from Friday

The window on the far left is our living room window :)

Some of my classmates. This picture is from the elevator of a certain building that we're technically not allowed to take pictures in... See last post for reference. Shhh.

More classmates outside out class building. (Maureen, Rachel, Jami, Amran, Libby, Alex, Katie, and Cat)

The sign at Shanga. It reads "Kindness is a language in which blind people see and deaf people hear."
The whole group at Shanga.
